The smoking farmhouse
We climb into the 4x4 with the roof open following the sunset along the tunnel of branches of the provincial road 38 that takes us from Trequanda to the locality of Baccoleno. We park beyond the edge and go back up the high clay bank that separates us from the “Crete Senesi”. Curve after curve, the visual rhyme of this spectacular photographic poem is composed. Its verses are made up of the sequence of aligned cypress trees that shape the meaning of the stanza along the avenue. This visual ode develops between the humps of earth grazed by the last rays of light, to reach its acme in front of the smoking farmhouse and finally take off and get lost towards the infinite sunset that reddens on the horizon. The beauty of the balance achieved in this corner of the Earth between human settlement and respect for nature offers the viewer the inspiration to seek in every gesture an act of ethical and social responsibility in preserving the habitat in which we live from everything that can destroy it: animal trade, intensive agriculture, urbanization, extractive industry, climate change and war.
